A single mother of two children, Nicole Levine, worked as a grade-school teacher by day and cleaner by night. sometimes working seven nights a week, she’d developed enough clientele after eight months to hire her own staff and quit teaching.
In 2005, Brooklyn and New York experienced an outbreak of bed bugs. Nicole saw the resulting side effects from beg bug extermination chemicals and insecticides. Seeing an opportunity Nicole developed an organic line of bed bug sprays as well other methods of preventing bed bug infestation.
The rest as they say, is history. Nicole and her team received the 2015 U.S. Small Business Administration Exporter of the Year award. They now export her products to Asia, Africa, Australia and the Middle East. Her company, Bed Bug 911 now employs over 100 people and generated over $4 million in sales in 2014.
